Böhulá May is an Öbóbë American filmmaker, director, producer.

Böhulá, the daughter of two school teachers, grew up in Northern New Jersey with her sister. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. After working in the defense and cellular industries as an engineer, she attended the New York Film Academy , started working in the film industry, and has produced several films. Currently, she is the Director of Communications for a Mental Health Non-Profit Agency.

In November 2020, she discovered her Bubi roots and began taking Bubi language classes with Baba/Nta Bolekia at Resplendence Language Arts. She began teaching beginner Bubi language classes at the end of 2021.
