Students will perfect their communication skills in the target language. Students will also begin to fully understand the differences between pronunciations dialects related to the target language. Students will gain cultural and social significance of word usage within the context of the community. Students will speak mainly in the target language, have an opportunity to correct any of their language mishaps in class along with having long and detailed conversations with the professor with limited errors. Professors will correct all errors. Students will have an opportunity to become volunteer conversational partners with the BL students.
Students will learn how to perfect their Swahili. Students will also begin to full understand the differences between areas where Swahili is spoken (for example Kenya, Tanzania, etc-) along with pronunciations and identify the colloqualism of the language. Students will gain cultural signficance and social signficance of word usage within the context of the community. Students will speak mainly Swahili. Students will have an opportunity to correct any of their Swahili mishaps in his/her/they class along with having long and detailed conversations with the professor with limited errors. Professor will correct all errors. An exam is taken in the final class. Student may have a guest speaker in the final class as wellStudents will have an opportunity to become volunteer conversational partners with the BL students.
