Resplendence Language Arts

Was founded in 2020  under the leadership of Executive Director Shayla Gaskins, MS. The organization was built to create disciplined, accessible pathways into African language study and to strengthen the academic seriousness surrounding these languages.

Over time, that work expanded into an international collaboration supported by scholars, educators, and community leaders across Africa, the diaspora, and Afro-Latin regions, including Colombia.

Our leadership includes:

Shayla Gaskins, MS
Executive Director
Founder of Resplendence Language Arts. She directs institutional development, international partnerships, government relationships, curriculum architecture, and long-term strategic planning.

Muthoni Mutisya
Education Director
Muthoni leads academic oversight across programs, ensuring instructional rigor, teacher coordination, and alignment across live and self-paced formats.

Dr. Justo Bolekia Boleká
Elder Scholar and Academic Advisor
Dr. Bolekia Boleká serves as senior scholarly counsel to the Resplendence team. His presence brings historical knowledge, linguistic scholarship, and intellectual discipline to the institution. He periodically teaches Bubi and contributes to academic direction and cultural preservation efforts.

Beyond leadership, the RLA Tribe includes educators working across multiple African countries as well as within Afro-Latin communities. Our teachers are active language practitioners grounded in their own linguistic and cultural contexts.

In addition to educational programming, Resplendence Language Arts provides professional language access services for:

• Government agencies
• Immigration law firms
• Healthcare institutions
• Social service organizations
• Community-based groups
• International partners

Our services include live instruction, interpretation, Video Remote Interpreting, document translation, transcription, social media translation and voiceover, and structured cultural consulting.

We also maintain trusted contacts on the ground in select African nations for families and institutions seeking informed connection, transition support, or cultural integration.

Resplendence Language Arts continues to grow through responsible partnerships, academic accountability, and practical service. We welcome collaboration with educators, institutions, agencies, and families who value structured language education and cultural competence.

Please Note:

We are always open and interested in working with African indigenous languages from around the world. We have a place for orators, storytellers, language teachers, historians, and African music teachers.
